Katz has been the subject of two customer complaints between 2013 and 2018, one of which was denied, according to his CRD report:
February 2018. “Time frame: 2016 Claimant alleges that the FA’s recommendation to liquidate her concentrated equity position and re-allocate to a diversified portfolio was unsuitable and that the tax consequences were misrepresented.” The customer is seeking $886,000 in damages and the case is currently pending.
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, UBS Financial Services Inc. may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Katz’s customers.
