How Investors Can Sue Former Western International Securities, Inc. Financial Advisor Jed Tinder

Western International Securities

Did you lose money investing with former Western International Securities, Inc. financial advisor Jed Tinder (CRD# 1013144)? Tinder was registered with Western International Securities, Inc. in Missoula, Montana from 2005 to 2016. Previously, Tinder was “permitted to resign” from Prudential in Newark, New Jersey in 1996 and from Edward Jones in St. Louis, Missouri in 1999.

In December 2017, FINRA barred Tinder after he consented to the sanction and to the entry of findings that during the course of an ongoing examination, he refused to provide information and documents requested by FINRA into whether he conducted outside business activities, participated in private securities transactions, engaged in sales practice violations, or otherwise acted in violation of NASD or FINRA rules or federal securities laws while he was registered.

Tinder has been the subject of three customer complaints between 2006 and 2016, one of which was denied, according to his CRD report:

  • August 2016. “Recklessness, Negligence.” The customer is seeking $181,668 in damages and the case is currently pending.
  • September 2015. “Claimant alleges unsuitable recommendations in transactions dating back to 2007.” The customer is seeking $1,200,00 in damages and the case is currently pending.

Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Western International Securities, Inc. may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Tinder’s customers.
