Hsieh has been the subject of three customer complaints between 2019 and 2021, one of which was denied, according to his CRD report:
- July 2021. “Client alleges the timeframe for the REIT investments purchased were misrepresented.” The customer is seeking $5,000 in damages and the case is currently pending.
- July 2019. “Clients allege breach of contract and warranties, promissory estoppel, violation of state securities statutes, violation of consumer protection statutes, and claims under common law.” The customer is seeking $500,000 in damages and the case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding real estate securities.
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Cetera Investment Services LLC may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Hsieh’s customers.
