Erez Law is currently investigating Peachcap Securities, Inc. broker John Mateyko (CRD# 3275621), who faces customer complaints related to unsuitable investment recommendations. He has been registered with Peachcap Securities, Inc. and Peachcap Tax & Advisory, LLC in Serenbe, Georgia, since 2018. Previously, he was registered with World Equity Group, Inc. in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, from 2010 to 2018, with Fifth Third Securities, Inc. in Mount Prospect, Illinois, from 2009 to 2010, and with Chase Investment Services Corp. in Schiller Park, Illinois, from 2008 to 2009, when he was terminated regarding, “rep accessed customer bank account information without a business reason to do so.”

John Mateyko Customer Complaints

He has been the subject of seven customer complaints between 2020 and 2023, one of which was denied, according to his CRD report:

May 2023. “Claimant alleges misrepresentation and breach of fiduciary duty related to structured notes they purchased.” The customer is seeking $250,000 in damages, and the case is currently pending. The complaint took place while he was registered with Peachcap Securities, Inc., and it was regarding corporate debt.

April 2023. “Claimants state that they were recommended by the Respondent (World Equity Group, Inc.) to invest their retirement funds in a prudent and suitable manner, Instead Claimants state they were recommended to invest in unsuitable and illiquid alternative investments (Non-Traded REITS) specifically in Hospitality Investment Trust (HIT) approximately between 2014 and 2018. Claimants state they were advised to hold the investments and eventually HIT’s bankruptcy came into picture. The claimants suffered a near complete loss on their investment in HIT.” The customer is seeking $606,000 in damages and the case is currently pending. The complaint took place while he was registered with World Equity Group, Inc., and it was regarding real estate securities.

August 2022. “Unsuitable allegations.” The customer is seeking $268,000 in damages, and the case is currently pending. The complaint took place while he was registered with World Equity Group, Inc., and it was regarding real estate securities.

April 2022. “Breach of fiduciary duty and negligence regarding REITs.” The customer sought $2,000,000 in damages, and the case was settled for $750,000. The complaint took place while he was registered with World Equity Group, Inc., and it was regarding real estate securities.

July 2021. “Clients allege unsuitability, misrepresentation, and failure to supervise in regard to certain purchases of REITs and Business Development Programs during 2014-2018.” The customer sought $500,000 in damages, and the case was settled for $330,000. The complaint took place while he was registered with World Equity Group, Inc., and it was regarding real estate securities and business development programs. 

May 2021. “Breach of fiduciary duty and negligence regarding REITs.” The customer sought $100,000.01 in damages, and the case was settled for $23,000. The complaint took place while he was registered with World Equity Group, Inc., and it was regarding real estate securities.

Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Peachcap Securities, Inc. may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by John Mateyko’s customers.
