Carlson has been the subject of eight customer complaints between 1985 and 2021, one of which was denied, according to his CRD report. The most recent complaint is regarding:
May 2021. “The customer alleges unsuitable investment recommendations, misrepresentations and omission of material facts.” The customer is seeking $300,000 in damages and the case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding loan management accounts and investment retirement accounts (IRAs).
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Carlson’s customers.
