Michael Coughlin Customer Complaints
He has been the subject of two customer complaints between 2011 to 2022, one of which was denied, according to his CRD report:
August 2022. “Claimant alleges, inter alia, unsuitability with regards to investment in accounts – Jan 2009 – Nov 2021.” The customer is seeking $500,000 in damages, and the case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding managed and wrap accounts, and it took place while he was registered with Morgan Stanley.
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Morgan Stanley may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Michael Coughlin’s customers.
