In March 2003, the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. sanctioned him to a civil and administrative penalty and fine of $7,500 and suspended him for 10 business days related to allegations that he executed unauthorized purchases in customer’s accounts.
In July 2003, the state of Illinois sanctioned him to a revocation for a period of two years.
In July 2011, the banking commissioner of the state of Connecticut directed him to cease and desist from regulatory violations. While registered with A&F Financial Securities, Inc., he “caused certain documents that were materially false or misleading to be filed with the commissioner.”

He has been the subject of one customer complaint, according to his CRD report:
June 2024. “Claimants allege unsuitable investments.” The case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding private placements, options, and alternative investment losses, and it took place while he was registered with Aegis Capital Corp.
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Aegis Capital Corp. may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Nicholas Tsikitas’ customers.
