There are options for investors who suffered investment losses due to recommendations by former Ameritas Investment Corp. broker Robert Gianchiglia (CRD# 2117250). Gianchiglia has been registered with USA Financial Securities Corporation in Worcester, Massachusetts since 2017. Previously, Gianchiglia was registered with Ameritas Investment Corp. in Worcester, Massachusetts from 2005 to 2017.
Gianchiglia has been the subject of six customer complaints between 2003 and 2019, one of which was closed without action and one was denied, according to his CRD report. Recent cases are regarding:
- November 2019. “FINRA arbitration 19-03388 in which the claimants allege misrepresentation in the sale of private placement.” The customer is seeking $200,000 in damages and the case is currently pending. The complaint took place while Gianchiglia was registered with Ameritas Investment Corp. and was regarding private placements.
- March 2017. “Between 12/14/2009 and 12/31/2016, claimant is alleging negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, misrepresentation, unsuitable trading and failure of supervision.” The customer sought $225,000 in damages and the case was settled for $45,000. The complaint took place while Gianchiglia was registered with Ameritas Investment Corp. and was regarding direct investments.
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Ameritas Investment Corp. may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Gianchiglia’s customers.
