Hananel has been the subject of six customer complaints between 2002 and 2021, according to his CRD report. Recent complaints include:
- February 2021. “Time frame: unspecified. Claimants allege unsuitable investments.” The case is currently pending.
- January 2021. “Time frame: Unspecified. Claimant alleges breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and unsuitable investment recommendations.” The case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding common and preferred stocks.
- December 2020. “Time frame: August 2019 to August 2020. Unsuitable investments, unauthorized trading, and churning.” The customer is seeking $50,000 in damages and the case is currently pending.
- March 2016. “Time frame: March 2010 – November 2015. Claimant alleges unauthorized trading, over concentration in unsuitable investments, unsuitable use of margin, and breach of fiduciary duty.” The customer sought $150,000 in damages and the case was settled for $46,500.
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Aegis Capital Corp. may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Hananel’s customers.
