Erez Law is currently investigating former Raymond James & Associates financial advisors Angela Graham West (CRD# 3004083) and Leon Rehak (CRD# 2331058) regarding unsuitability and excessive trading in the accounts of a retired customer. It has been recently reported that the customer is seeking $499,000 in damages, alleging that Raymond James & Associates is negligent and failed to properly supervise its brokers, West and Rehak. The case is currently pending.
West has been registered with Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida since September 2017. Previously, she was registered with Raymond James & Associates, Inc. in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida from 2008 to 2017. West has no customer complaints on her CRD record.
Rehak has been registered with LPL Financial LLC in Pompano Beach, Florida since October 2016. Previously, he was registered with Raymond James & Associates, Inc. in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida from 2004 to 2016.
Rehak has been the subject of one additional customer complaint, according to his CRD report:
November 2016. “Client alleges fraud, excessive trading, churning, unauthorized trading, breach of fiduciary duty, unsuitability, breach of contract, negligence, unjust enrichment and deceptive practices. Activity date is: 4/2004 through 12/2011.” The customer is seeking $600,000 in damages and the case is currently pending.
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Raymond James & Associates may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by West and Rehak’s customers.
