October 2022. “The policy owner alleges that when he purchased a variable annuity in June 2021, it was with the understanding he would receive 4% interest with the investment preservation rider included. The policy owner stated he has recently learned that the rider was not included with the policy and is requesting that it be added now.” The case was settled for $335,740.71. The complaint was regarding variable annuity investment losses.
According to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, NYLife Securities LLC may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Howard Hanna’s customers.
